Mount Paricutin | Specials

So, what's fascinating about this cinder volcano called Mount Paricutin?

There are no myths or legends about Paricutin because it is so new. Most myths were made by people in a long time ago.

Now, because of science, people know how volcanoes work so there are no myths about Paricutn; but the story behind Paricutin is fascinating.

Paricutin started as a cornfield.

A farmer named Dionisio Pulido was working on his farm when he noticed a small, warm crack in the ground.

The crack kept getting bigger and bigger with over 300 earthquakes that day.

Smoke started coming out of the ground.

A huge mountain started growing! Within 24 hours a 40 foot cinder cone volcano had risen from the ground. That cinder cone just kept growing!

It grew and grew until it reached the final height of 9,186 feet!
