Composite Volcanoes | Types of Volcanoes

Mayon also known as Mayon Volcano or Mount Mayon, is an active stratovolcano in the province of Albay in Bicol Region, on the large island of Luzon in the Philippines. Renowned as the "perfect cone". (Wikipedia)

This perfect cone is also the perfect example for the type of volcano we'll be talking about in this lesson - the composite volcanoes.

Composite volcanoes are the most symmetrical type of volcanoes.

They are also known as stratavolcanoes for they are built by layers of lava and pyroclastic materials.

It is fueled by viscious lava that makes it erupt in a very explosive manner.

Note: We're sorry for the very short blog posts, we need to reach a certain number of blog posts for our Science subject.
